Laser Welding 101 – Fundamentals of Laser Welding

IPG’s Laser Welding 101 is intended for IPG’s Systems customers that already own an IPG laser welding system and need either refresher training, or training for new operators. While hands-on training will specifically reference IPG’s products, much of the classroom curriculum covers standard technology and process issues, and is suitable for prospective customers looking to gain additional understanding of the subject prior to committing to equipment purchase.

This is a two-day course, held at the IPG Applications facility in Marlborough Massachusetts on Tuesday-Wednesday April 7-8, 2020*.

The fee for the course is $1500 for IPG existing customers, $2500 for non-customers, and includes copies of course materials, lunch and refreshments on each of the two days.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Understand fundamental concepts of laser welding
  • Recognize new advances in laser welding
  • Operate an IPG welding workstation
  • Set up an IPG welding workstation, and program all the process parameters
  • Perform basic welding optimization and troubleshooting

An outline of the course syllabus is given below.  Due to the hands-on elements of the equipment training, seats are limited, so please register soon.
